I have set out on a new adventure and it is that of a book reviewer. A while back, I signed up to review books for a few different publishing companies and I am just starting to get my first few copies in to be read and then reviewed. This bookworm is in book heaven!
The Return by Suzanne Woods Fisher is the first fiction book that I have read in a long time and it did not disappoint. The Return is the third book in Fisher’s Amish Beginnings series with the narrative taking place during the 1700s and the turbulent days prior to the Revolutionary War. The book focuses on the lives of two very different young women, Tessa and Betsy. Tessa is young, outspoken, and hopelessly in love with Hans Bauer. Betsy on the other hand is quiet, reserved and the object of Hans Bauer’s affection which creates a love triangle between these three. When tragedy strikes everyone’s world is turned upside down. The author did a superb job in taking you on a journey during pre-Revolutionary days and the multi-layered love and loss of two young women. I couldn’t put this book down and now I want to go back and read the first two books in the Amish Beginnings series.
