Stretched Too Thin by Jessica N. Turner *Book Review*

Working Mom and Author, Jessica N. Turner writes “how working moms can lose the guilt, work smarter, and thrive” in her new book Stretched Too Thin.  I have long followed Jessica on social media but this is the first book of hers that I have read.  I’ll be honest, I chose this book to read, not because I myself am a working mom, but because I wanted a better glimpse into the world of working moms.  I have several close friends who are working moms and I stand back in disbelief in how they do it all, even though they would be the first to tell you that they don’t do it all.

In Stretched Too Thin, Jessica offers some very practical principles that fellow working moms can incorporate into their daily routine and lives to help them as she says “lose the guilt, work smarter, and thrive.”  Shortly into it, I realized that I just wasn’t connecting with the book and I thought maybe it was just me, because after all I am not a working mom.  However, I decided to push through and finish.  The same feeling of disconnectedness I experienced at the beginning, was felt throughout the entire book all the way to the very last page.  I reached out to a dear friend who is a working mom and who was reading the book as well and she echoed the same thoughts and feelings about the book that I held.

Jessica is hands down an expert in her field of being a working mom.  It’s evident she has a good balance on all of it and offers solid “rules of life” for her readers and followers.  I appreciate the support and encouragement that she offers to working moms, no doubt it is a much-needed ministry.

*This book was sent to me by Revell publishing company to read and review.  These words are my own.*
